Duration: 3 hours (2 hours Sport-Science + 1 hour climbing).
Equipment being used:
15 metre Speed Track – 5m, 10m, 15m assessments including time and speed
Speed Court – Multi directional and cognitive training. The only speed court system in Ireland. Also used at Real Madrid, Bayern Munich & Bayern Leverkusen.
Hamstring Solo – Data driven training. Perform scientifically proven exercises for safely conditioning athletes’ hamstrings. Evaluate training effectiveness, set training goals, assess injury
risk, monitor fatigue, manage rehab. Also used by IRFU, Dublin GAA, Liverpool FC, Saracens RFC.
Functional Movement screening – FMS Testing
The FMS is a tool used to identify asymmetries which result in functional movement deficiencies. The FMS aims to identify imbalances in mobility and stability during seven fundamental
movement patterns. The FMS consists of seven movement patterns which require mobility and stability. The seven following movement patterns are scored from 0-3 points, with the sum creating a score ranging from 0-21 points.
- Deep Squat
- Hurdle Step
- In-line Lunge
- Active Straight-leg Raise
- Trunk Stability Push-up
- Rotary Stability
- Shoulder Mobility
Research tell us that climbing can improve flexibility, increase strength, engage upper and lower body muscle groups simultaneously, stabilize core which are all very important for improving performance and decreasing the risk of injury.
Tests being carried out:
Speed Track – Free Sprint 5m, 10m, 15m & Signal Sprint 5m, 10m, 15m
